BORMIO is to be found in the middle of the upper valley, called Alta Valtellina, and is surrounded by the Stelvio National Park. Since 100 B.C. it is famous for its hot thermal spas, in which already Leonardo da Vinci relaxed. Nowadays it provides three thermal bath and sauna worlds open all year. As well it is possible to ski all year-round. When the lifts close in the summer ski resort Stelvio Pass, the slopes in Bormio’s ski area Vallecetta open. There are plenty of winter and summer sports activities to practice, nature to experience under the guidance of park rangers, history to discover walking through the medieval part of Bormio. Shopping along the fashion-mile and last but not least food and wine specialties of the region, all there are here at your fingertips.
